Rodin Bis (2014) {New Perfume}
Rodin, the makers of Rodin Olio Lusso, a cult beauty product which has won over many fans in an era when beauty oils are a craze, have launched a debut perfume called Bis...
Brand founder Linda Rodin has chosen to take the nostalgia route with this first composition which is said to be inspired by a "lost mid-century elegance". It seems to harken back to the 1950s-1960s, up to that point when fashion got looser and freer; it is at the same time, an homage to her own mother.
A further clue given to you is that the fragrance is described as a "classic green violet-orris scent".
The perfume has top notes of bergamot, anise flower and lemon. The heart features May rose, jasmine and violet; the base is powdery, with notes of musk, ambergris, tonka, and lavender.
On paper, these hints might allude to a perfume which might smell like Le Dix by Balenciaga (1947), which is now discontinued.
Does "Bis" mean literally here, "again"? Something is taking place a second time.
Price: $300 for 50 ml.
