Tapping into the long-gloved, retro Hollywood glamor of the end of the 1950s and beginning of the 1960s - think Some Like it Hot (1959) - with her pouffed sleeves and hair,

Rihanna is now offering her best polished-up glossy and haute look, ditching her more counter-cultural sartorial choices as a showwoman.

Many of her fans like @fentychato read her advert as being Rihanna's subversive take on the Barbie doll imagery even calling her the "True" Barbie doll as opposed to the "False" one. Nicki Minaj, as we know, has also reworked the Barbie reference calling her one of her inspirations.

You can see how this kind of pop culture material is going to turn into gold for social studies seminars.

Rihanna tweeted,

No further olfactory precisions were disclosed at this point in time. Juding by the looks of it, the new jus is aiming for a more sophisticated style while promising, somehow, to smell pink.
