130 Street Photographies after the Paris Attacks - 130 photographies de rue, après les attentats de Paris - In Memoriam
A toy store near the Bataclan makes you think of an often raised societal issue these days: do video games play an active role in the contemporary culture of violence? And what is it exactly? Three armed men painted on an iron curtain suggest out of sheer coincidence the death commando which was sent to the concert hall, just a block up the street...
But it's not fun anymore. Paris, the romantic city of dreams and lightness of being, has become all too real suddenly.
In the early days of the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks, Parisians were grieving overtly, uncontrollably, having lost their innocence overnight.
What took place has not only been a psychological shock, it's also triggered a cultural shock, which explains the violence of the rippling effects and the complex reactions it yielded for the inhabitants of a city and country whose idea of Paris had just died. The shock waves had even been felt abroad.
This photo is part of a series capturing the atmosphere of Paris after 11/13 in 130 pictures, one each day for each of the 130 Paris Attack victims.
