130 Street Photographies after the Paris Attacks - 130 photographies de rue, après les attentats de Paris - In Memoriam
This photo, I have to say, just makes me laugh, although I'm not sure you can see the comical aspect of it if you weren't standing there, that is on January 10, 2016 at République, to commemorate the deaths of the victims of the Paris Attacks...
In this picture, there is a tension between those gathered there, attempting to read the freshly inaugurated commemorative plaque beneath the Oak of Remembrance, and the guardian of the plaque who told us his job was to prevent people from walking all over the plaque. So, there is a visual contrast around that unwritten rule. He is standing there with an umbrella, as it had rained that day, but his umbrella seems to be there also to potentiall ward off overly eager intruders.
This picture just tickles my funny bone, not knowing for sure if that can be felt by anyone as I haven't had enough time to forget about the details of the live event and just rely on the visual which was kept of that moment.
This is a moment of levity in contrast to the much more emo moments before the giant screens.
This photo is part of a series capturing the atmosphere of Paris after 11/13 in 130 pictures, one each day for each of the 130 Paris Attack victims.
