Perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez Launches Own House with Debut Fragrance L'Etoile et le Papillon
Jean-Michel Duriez has worked for Patou, Rochas, and others. To celebrate the 30 years of his career, he is opening his own, eponymous perfume house with a debut, unisex composition called L'Etoile et le Papillon (The Star and the Butterfly)...
The idea behind the scent was two imagine two radically opposed personalities who come together as one, a woman and a man.
The woman is symbolized by the radiance of a star. Her perfume mixes fresh Turkish rose, ylang-ylang and vanilla. The man is a butterfly whose trail blends a lactonic Caledonian sandalwood, woods and mosses. The fragrance finds unity thanks to a light veil of white amber.
The eau de parfum is released as a limited-edition baptized Collection JMD X NOE TWO in a lacquered, wooden coffret decorated by painter and graffiti artist Noé-Two, available in 168 copies.
On sale from Dec 5, 2016 to January 3, 2017 at Galerie Ephémère Jean-Michel Duriez at Galerie Vivienne, 4 rue des Petits-Champs, Paris 2e.
